A Holidazzled Cabaret

The Academy at Ocala Civic Theatre is pleased to collaborate with the Brick City Cabaret Company in this program of fabulously festive favorites. Since 2006, BCCC has featured some of our region’s finest vocal talent. This fall, their seasoned singers have been teaching our students how to shine bright in the spotlight, performing in classic cabaret style.
Tinseltunes is directed by Jessica Mongerio and Jason Bartosic, co-artistic directors of BCCC. Under their leadership, our Tinseltunes cast has created an original program of solos, duets, and group numbers to celebrate the holidays and get audiences in a marvelously merry mood.
This spectacular set of swanky songs includes old and new classics like “I’ll Be Home For Christmas,” “Winter Wonderland,” “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch,” “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus,” “Never Fall in Love With an Elf,” “Christmas Blues,” “Sparklejollytwinklejingly,” “Sisters” from White Christmas, and of course “White Christmas” itself – among many others!
The talented young cast of Tinseltunes (ages 13-17) includes Estella Cavalier, Valynn Flaherty, Terryn Ginder, Suriana Im, Hunter Leary, Aaron Lowe, Maren Miller, Kaitlyn Nast, Harlem Nation, Jalis Redmond, and Maiyah Smith.
Tinseltunes is presented in part by OCT’s ACT 4, whose support helps make possible the classes and programs of The Academy at Ocala Civic Theatre.

RUNTIME: 60 – 70 minutes with no Intermission
As an encore, Tinseltunes will ring in the new year downtown as part of Ocala Main Street’s First Night celebration. The cast will shine in two fabulously festive (and free!) half-hour performances on Sunday, December 31 at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., both at IHMC (15 SE Osceola Avenue).
Join us to ring in the holidays at OCT, then again downtown to say cheers to the new year with our sparkling student singers!

The Golden Troupers is a dynamic group of performers ages 55+ who bring live theatre into the community through a 45-minute readers-theatre program of songs, comedy skits, and magic. The Troupers provide their own sound system, music, props and materials. There is no charge for the performances, although donations to Ocala Civic Theatre and its youth programs are gratefully accepted. The purpose of this organization shall be to promote, assist and sustain the programs of Ocala Civic Theatre through the volunteer service of its members; to promote and enrich the Theatre through special fund-raising projects for the Theatre; and to sponsor programs through the Theatre to add to the cultural life of the community. – from the ACT 4 – Ocala Civic Theatre, Inc. Since 1988, ACT 4 has supported and donated more than $200,000 to Ocala Civic Theatre through a wide variety of fundraisers. ACT 4 annually sponsors college scholarships and contributes to youth programs and facility improvements. In addition, ACT 4 members regularly volunteer more than 2500 hours each season.
