Dave Schlenker’s book-signing party to benefit Ocala Civic Theatre

August 9 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Join us on Friday, August 9 for Dave Schlenker’s book-signing party!

Local favorite writer, photographer, long-time member of the OCT family, and all-around good guy Dave Schlenker has written another book: “Columns, Confessions and a Brain Cyst,” his second collection of essays and newspaper/magazine columns. And to celebrate, he’s having a book-signing party at Ocala Civic Theatre!

The party will be held in the OCT lobby from 5-7 p.m. Come meet the man himself, buy a book or five, get his autograph, and maybe even pose for a photo op. Proceeds from the book sales benefit Ocala Civic Theatre.

In his second book, Dave’s essays and columns chronicle a life of epic dad fails, pigeon tragedies, underwear mysteries, coupon cults, sardine pranks, and, of course, Erik Estrada. This book also includes a new essay on Schlenker’s brain cyst and subsequent surgeries, symptoms, and stumbles. Minus the brain stuff, these stories are as funny as they are familiar. Unless you have a brain cyst, too. Then it might be familiar. Maybe funny. Unless… well, just read the book. If you loved his first one (“Little Man, Big Mouth, 30 Years: Newspaper and Magazine Columns by an Average Dad in Cargo Shorts”), don’t miss your chance to pick up a few autographed copies of “the sequel”!
